Infant Program

The first 12 months of a baby’s life are met with unbelievable wonder and awe. Hand ‘N Hand recognizes parents are your child’s most loving and influential teachers. It is our desire to partner with you helping your little one reach all of the first year’s milestones.

Our Early Childhood Specialists have trained in research-based cognitive and social/emotional development for infants and toddlers. Learn Every Day Infant and Toddler Curriculum is the perfect choice to enhance our developmentally appropriate approach. Our team consists of dedicated, nurturing, and highly motivated individuals who value the connection between family and Hand ‘N Hand.

Speech and language concepts are developed by tiny eyes following familiar voices, cooing, babbling, and the excitement of communicating through gestures such as waving bye-bye and blowing kisses. This is accomplished through playful interaction with our Early Childhood Specialists who incorporate American Sign Language, singing, storytelling, and lots of conversation throughout the day.

Tummy time strengthens core muscles to build a firm foundation for crawling and later walking and offers a fun time for social development. Finger plays and finger foods help develop fine motor skills. Playing Peek-A-Boo introduces object permanence by allowing babies to discover objects may be present even if the child does not see the object (or person) for a brief moment. Games such as Patty Cake or playing with interactive toys encourage self-esteem as your little one realizes he or she can gain a great response from those around them.

Toddler Program

Once your child’s feet hit the ground in our Toddler classroom, it is time for discovery. Learn Every Day Infant and Toddler Curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and self-confidence through an ever-expanding toddler world.

Emergent language skills, including speech development and listening skills are encouraged through music and interactive children’s literature. Physical development including fine and gross motor skills, fill our toddlers’ day with exploring, excitement, and self-discovery. Our toddlers’ day is enhanced by our purposeful play based on meaningful thematic topics, enriched by both indoor and outdoor experiences.

STREAM: Relationships are essential for infants and toddlers to foster social, emotional, physical, and brain development. As a toddler moves from infancy to toddlerhood, relationships expand from parents and trusted Early Childhood Specialist to additional children and perhaps an additional team member in their daily life. Continued bonding, developing self-help skills, and successfully exploring additional boundaries, begins to give very young children a sense of self-confidence.

Artist In Residence: Painting, coloring, and discovering the sensory table give each child plenty of art experiences to look forward to. Drama or dramatic play allows our toddlers to mimic the roles of mommy or daddy, by gently holding a doll, pushing the grocery cart, cooking a yummy dinner, or sharing a book with a teddy bear.

Kindness Counts: Building on trustworthiness, caring and empathy are introduced as part of guiding our young friends to be gentle with each other. Our Early Childhood Specialist invites individual children to join her in offering a soothing word or deed to a child in emotional distress. It is always a celebrated moment when children begin to intrinsically display this support spontaneously to their friends.

With an even balance of teacher facilitated activities and child-initiated discovery, an optimal environment equals a perfect place where your toddler will thrive.

2 Year Old Program

Our two-year-old preschool children are surrounded by a warm environment that is rich in multi-intelligent opportunities. The Learn Every Day Two-Year-Old Curriculum is designed to spark each child’s natural curiosity.

Our teachers have been trained to recognize and meet the needs of an egocentric two-year-old. Each lesson plan recognizes the unique nature and learning style of these older toddlers. Teacher-directed activities during circle time are balanced with the child’s choice of activities throughout the day.

Encouraging boundaries, sharing with friends, and listening to simple directions lay the foundation for a two-year-old’s journey to educational excellence. Instilling a lifetime love of learning continues to form.

STREAM: Relationships are essential for infants and toddlers to foster social, emotional, physical, and brain development. As a two-year old moves from toddlerhood into a more independent world, relationships begin to include verbal expression, making needs and wants known, and enjoying new experiences “all by myself.”

Artist In Residence: Each day is filled with creative art, music, and imaginative play. Music is a wonderful part of each day’s adventure. Special “dance moves” come alive with colorful scarves, whirling and twirling, with our older toddlers jumping, marching, or tiptoeing with boundless energy.

Kindness Counts: Of the seven pillars of character, trustworthiness is the first principal presented in every class. Trust must be earned by children and modeled by staff. Caring and empathy are introduced as part of guiding our young friends to be gentle with each other and continues to be interwoven into each day of our two-year old’s activities. A new value is introduced during the course of the year. Responsibility is the act of being in control or taking control. Tantrums and the power of “NO” can cause a delay in social and emotional growth, interfering with future academic and interpersonal success. As Early Childhood Specialists, our responsibility is to guide young children toward positive actions and outcomes. Helping during clean- up time, following simple rules, or learning to put your own blanket in your cubby gives very young children a positive feeling of control and belonging to their peer-group.

Your two-year-old takes great pride in being a treasured member of the classroom, while our Early Childhood Specialist is laying the foundation for responsible individuals, by continuing to embed self-confidence in your little one.

Encouraging boundaries, sharing with friends, and listening to simple directions lay the foundation for a two-year-old’s journey to educational excellence. Instilling a lifetime love of learning has just begun.

Preschool Program

Developing self-control, following directions, and successfully interacting with his or her peers is a must for success in our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 classrooms. Learn Every Day Preschool Curriculum activities are planned to help each child meet these goals. Each of our individual classrooms has various learning centers, such as dramatic play, art center, blocks, library, discovery center and a math manipulative center. Our exciting hands-on approach will ensure your child is offered the maximum opportunities to excel in learning new skills and self-confidence.

Nemours BrightStart Early Literacy Program: Hand ‘N Hand Child Enrichment Center is proud to incorporate Nemours BrightStart, in partnership with Learn Everyday Preschool Curriculum, to our emergent reading readiness curriculum. Nemours Children Hospital, one of the largest child health organizations in the United States, dedicated a research team to put together a group of building blocks for future reading success. Before a child can write, he or she must have the prerequisite fine motor skills necessary to use his or her wrist, fingers, and hands properly and effectively. Our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 programs focus on pre-writing activities and skills that include hand strength, directional movement patterns, and effective hand position. These exercises will facilitate making lines and shapes in order to lay the foundation for future writing skills.

STREAM: Our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 children are immersed in Science, Technology, Relationships, Engineering, Arts, and Math as evidenced through our strong, researched based, and creative curriculum and enrichment programs. Incorporating STREAM into the presentation of our multi-intelligence approach, ensures our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 students will be well prepared for a successful journey to educational excellence.

Artist In Residence: Our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 children are introduced to an expanded art program that includes special partnerships with community arts organizations such as the Orlando Ballet and Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Along with the various creative art experiences provided on a daily basis, the excitement of a professional dancer becomes part of our team. Surprise visits from the Orchestra are also part of the program, featuring a musician bringing an up close and personal demonstration of many different musical instruments.

Kindness Counts: Trustworthiness, empathy, and responsibility are reviewed and fostered with our Pre-K 3 and Young Pre-K 4 children. By refreshing the previous pillars of Kindness Counts, adding fairness to our community spirited classroom is a natural progression even though fairness is a value that is difficult for very young children to understand. Allowing children to take turns being helpers throughout the day is a great beginning. Respect is developed as we celebrate the uniqueness of each child. Children are encouraged to begin self-regulation, or the ability to control their impulses, giving each child the opportunity to be heard and seen in a mindful manner.

Our professionally trained teachers support each child’s skill development. The sensitivity of our staff creates a caring classroom environment where positive encouragement and praise enhance the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child.

VPK - Kindergarten Readiness

Hand ‘N Hand Child Enrichment Center is proud of our research-based curriculum, Learn Everyday Preschool Curriculum and Nemours’ BrightStart Literacy Curriculum. Our rich and diverse curriculum guarantees our VPK program exceeds the Florida Sunshine Standards.

Learn Every Day Preschool Curriculum generates eagerness, curiosity, and creativity. Our hands-on environment encourages critical thinking skills, problem solving, inventiveness, independence, and a time for reflection each and every day. Both teacher-directed and student-initiated learning opportunities are incorporated in our in-depth lesson plans.

NEMOURS BRIGHTSTART is presented to small groups of children allowing for individualized attention on emergent reading skills including letter recognition, phonics, phonemic awareness, rhyming, and a concentration on rich vocabulary. Research clearly shows the correlation between mastering these concepts during the Pre-Kindergarten year leads to successful early reading.

STREAM: Our VPK children are immersed in Science, Technology, Relationships, Engineering, Arts, and Math as evidenced through our strong, researched based, and creative curriculum and enrichment programs. Incorporating STREAM into the presentation of our multi-intelligence approach, ensures our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten students will be well prepared to continue their journey to educational excellence.

Kindness Counts: Our VPK students are immersed in character building skills. The Seven Pillars of Character are introduced and reviewed throughout the year. Starting with our babies, and continuing to build on the six values listed, our final value is Citizenship.

Seven Pillars of Character:

Trustworthiness is modeled by helping young children understand words and actions can make their peers feel wanted and needed. Respect is developed as we celebrate the uniqueness of each child. Children are encouraged to begin self-regulation, the ability to control their impulses, giving each child the opportunity to be heard and seen in a mindful manner. Responsibility is helping during clean- up time, following simple rules, or learning to put your own blanket in your cubby. Fairness is difficult for very young children to understand. Allowing children to take turns being helpers throughout the day is a great beginning. Caring and Empathy: Our team of professional teachers are sensitive to social and emotional readiness that is critical to a child’s transition to kindergarten. In order to build strong self-concepts, self-control, values, and healthy relationships with both peers and adults, positive role modeling is a must in our classrooms.

Hand ‘N Hand believes CITIZENSHIP is nurtured through the combination of all seven values. Helping children feel safe and valued, modeling simple class rules, taking turns, sharing spaces, and building a community of kind, caring, and conscientious young children will leave a lasting impact on this generation.
